Prior to our visit to Nkokonjeru, Uganda in August, 2006, we wanted to raise some money to assist in a project for one of the village schools. After communicating with Jean and Clay (missionaries from the United States who were in their eighth month in Uganda), we decided on a project to provide bunk beds for St. Alphonsus Demonstration School, a day school that suddenly was boarding 50 students for which they did not have beds. Clay researched the costs and asked if we could raise $1000 to purchase bunk beds, mattresses and blankets, paint and plaster for dorm room walls and possibly buy two sewing machines for the school. We sent an email out to some friends and soon had ten times our goal. With that we were able to repair or make improvements to so many areas. We've slected several images with their stories attached, go here.
